Odontotecnico OLDENT di Ugo Giagnoni a Nuoro

Oldent Dental Technician is in Nuoro since 1989. What was considered science fiction or a foreign prerogative until some years ago is now reality in the dental market, thanks to Oldent of Ugo Giagnoni. Born as a traditional dental laboratory in 1989 in Olbia, the company in 1994 arrived in Nuoro, main town of Barbagia. The challenge for Oldent was digital technology, then in its infancy. This meant significant investments, but results were precision in prosthetic construction. The company has then become leader in all of central Sardinia: CAD CAM has been the ''''''''magic'''''''' ingredient, the new technology which, thanks to the algorithms of the software it uses, allows repetitiveness and the predictability of the work done. Once the patient''''''''s optical impression has been received from the dental office, the design phase is completely virtual. The difference compared to analogue and exquisitely artisan work has undeniable advantages for the patient: non-invasive impressions, quick reproducibility of the prosthesis if there is a need or in case of sudden change, quality and durability of the materials. Today Oldent is also involved in training courses and transmits their skills to an Institute for dental Technicians in Oristano.

Mobile dental prostheses. The mobile prosthesis (denture) can be removed for daily hygiene. If the patient misses all the teeth, it’ll need a mobile total prosthesis, recommended by the doctor also as a temporary prosthesis where a prosthesis is made on implants. At presence of some teeth, a mobile partial prosthesis could be fixed to them by means of hooks, all in steel wire or with ultimate materials aesthetically and elastically valid. Fixed dental prostheses. This fixed dental prosthesis replaces natural teeth, it is called a fixed prosthesis because it is fixed in the mouth with cement so it cannot be removed. It can be fixed both to the filed teeth and to the implant pillars. This category includes crowns or capsules, bridges, facets and inlays (used in complex reconstructions usually of posterior teeth). The illustrated materials are Zirconia-ceramic, Zirconia-Monolithic and Lithium Silicate, all highly aesthetic and resistant materials. Temporary dental prostheses. The function of the temporary prosthesis is to keep the patient throughout the period of prosthetic therapy in a state of functional and aesthetic masticatory comfort. Other functions of the temporary are the protection of the filed tooth from the oral fluids, the control of the annoying sensitivity to heat and cold that can be established in the non devitalized filed teeth and the replacement of missing teeth. Moreover, provisional teeth are to be considered, once adapted and functionalised in the mouth, a valid proof of the definitive prosthesis. The patient can thus visualize, even taking into account the limitations of the provisional, as will be the final prosthesis. The dentist in turn will be able to test the validity of the prosthetic project. Toronto Bridge dental prostheses. The Toronto Bridge is a prosthesis made on implants. It was presented in Canada in 1982 in the city of Toronto from which it is named. It is a fixed prosthesis that is applied, screwing it to the abutments (prosthetic pillars connected to the implants) or directly screwed onto the implants, therefore removable by the doctor both for a possible cleaning and for any type of intervention, periodic or restorative control. It is an extremely precise dental prosthesis, it requires a particular collaboration between the Dental Office and the Dental Laboratory, it is a beautiful product when made according to certified protocols, as OLDENT does. Dental prostheses with CAD CAM. The OLDENT Dental Laboratory is always in step with technology, realizes custom-made medical devices adopting CAD (Computer-Aided Design) technology CAM (Computer-Aided Manufacturing), The CAD CAM phases are very important for the achievement of a project and its development. In fact, in the production sector, these technologies are used to manage and control processes, perform simulations, and make prostheses.
